On 21 January 2020, Mr Akhan Onggaruly, the Head of the Research Institute of the National Heritage, National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan visited IRCI and discussed collaboration in future research projects. The republic of Kazakhstan ratified the UNESCO’s Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2011. There are, however, lots of challenges such as establishing National Law systems for ICH and inventory making, therefore Mr Onggaruly conveyed his intention to establish mechanism to address these challenges by promoting research activities.
