The IRCI research database aims to enhance research on safeguarding ICH in the Asia-Pacific region, by providing a variety of research information including literature, institutions, and researchers involved with safeguarding ICH in the Asia-Pacific region.

With the cooperation of ICH experts as well as research institutions, national archives, libraries, museums, and other related institutions in the Asia-Pacific region, IRCI continues to collect and disseminate the information to be referenced not only by ICH researchers but also by experts and students in related fields of law, anthropology, folklore, sociology, archaeology, cultural properties/heritage, cultural studies, and so on.

This database is supported by the Partnership Programme for Intangible Cultural Heritage, the Agency for Cultural Affairs, Japan.
