“Towards Safeguarding Endangered Traditional Crafts in Post-Conflict Areas of Sri Lanka [Second Edition]” published online (March 2025)

IRCI’s publication “Towards Safeguarding Endangered Traditional Crafts in Post-Conflict Areas of Sri Lanka [Second Edition]” is now available online. Being produced as the result of IRCI’s project ‘Research for Endangered Traditional Handicrafts in Post-Conflicted States (Sri Lanka)’, which was conducted from FY 2013 to 2015, this report provides a detailed account on the revival of traditional textiles and women’s handicrafts in the Northern and Eastern Provinces of Sri Lanka.

The original version of the report was first published in 2014, with a limited distribution to stakeholders. This second edition has been published online to respond to requests from stakeholders to make the report more accessible, given its rich information and valuable insights into safeguarding endangered traditional crafts in post-conflict areas. It is hoped that this online edition will reach a wider audience in Sri Lanka, the Asia-Pacific region, and beyond.
