IRCI participated in the 19th session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage (19.COM), which took place in Asunción, Republic of Paraguay from 2 to 7 December 2024.

For promotion, IRCI set up a table to display its latest publications and other promotional materials such as the IRCI Brochure and, leaflet to enhance the visibility of IRCI and its research activities. IRCI also distributed its first Policy Brief summarizing the essence of the two latest publications, namely, Natural Hazards and the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage: Experiences from the Asia-Pacific Region and Case Studies on Intangible Cultural Heritage amid the COVID-19 Pandemic in the Asia-Pacific Region, for disseminating the project outcomes widely.

The table attracted many participants, providing an opportunity for our staff members to engage in person in explaining IRCI’s research projects and publications while receiving positive feedback and interest in its activities. Overall, the event was successful in raising awareness of IRCI and expanding its network among stakeholders in the field of ICH.
