New Frontiers of Research for Safeguarding Intangible Cultural Heritage
The Asia-Pacific Research Forum for ICH Safeguarding, a new platform for research promotion and cooperation established by the International Research Centre for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region (IRCI), is organizing its first international conference, ‘New Frontiers of Research for Safeguarding Intangible Cultural Heritage’, to be held in Osaka, Japan, on 13–15 February 2025. Being organized as an academic and interdisciplinary conference, this international conference aims to discuss new approaches and methodologies in ICH research and safeguarding in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond, while covering a wide range of topics including issues and challenges related to economic development, emergencies, gender issues, migration, and many others.
Call for papers and panels for this conference is now open!
Any researchers working on ICH-related topics in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond are welcome to apply to present a paper at the conference. The conference invites both paper and panel proposals. Interested applicants can check the General Information and Submission Guidelines to learn more about the conference and application process.
