IRCI organised “Research on the Safeguarding of ICH in the Asia-Pacific Region” Establishing New Sustainable Mechanism for Systematic Research Data Collection FY2019 the First Working Group Meeting on June 26 and 27, 2019 at Kuroda Memorial Hall in Tokyo National Museum.
Seven experts of universities and research institutes from six countries participated in the meeting. They shared the information about current situation of data collection on ICH at each institution in their countries. Furthermore, they had an active discussion regarding the future mechanism of academic research data collection on ICH and exchanged opinions in order to decide on the concrete process for it.
It is expected that the latest information on ICH in the Asia Pacific region is regularly collected and updated, on the IRCI’s research database. This will contribute to the promotion of further research activities on ICH in the region, thereby contributing to the active discussion of ICH safeguarding.
