The 2 delegates of IRCI, Mr. IWAMOTO, Director-General and Mr. HAYASHI, Chief Officer have participated in the 2018 Sub-regional Meeting for ICH safeguarding in Northeast Asia “ICH in Education: Toward Joint Collaboration for Promoting ICH in Formal and Non-Formal Education” which was held on 28-30 August 2018 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

Aiming at fostering international collaboration and building a regional network of experts reflecting on the generative link between Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) safeguarding and formal and non formal education in pursuit of the 2030 SDGs in Northeast Asia, UNESCO Beijing Cluster Office, International Information and Networking Centre for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region (ICHCAP) and the Mongolian National Commission for UNESCO organised the meeting with the support of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports of Mongolia.

4 Panel Discussions which have respective themes were arranged in the meeting to share the experiences and strengthen the network among the participants, and Mr. IWAMOTO, Director-General and Mr. HAYASHI, Chief Officer made a contribution by giving presentations.
