The Ninth Governing Board Meeting of the International Information and Networking Centre for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region (ICHCAP) was held on 15 December 2016 in Seoul, Korea. In addition to the 11 members of the governing board, 12 observers from 4 organisations such as the other UNESCO C2 centres of intangible cultural heritage in China (CRIHAP) and Japan (IRCI) joined the meeting. From Japan, Mitsuhiro Ikehara (Director, National Institutes for Cultural Heritage, Japan), Wataru Iwamoto (Director-General, IRCI), and Takao Mishima (Chief Officer, IRCI) attended.

Ikehara commented on IRCI further strengthening cooperative ties with ICHCAP and CRIHAP in the Asia-Pacific Region.
