IRCI participated in the Third Annual Coordination Meeting of Category 2 Centres Active in the Field of Intangible Cultural Heritage
IRCI participated in the Third Annual Coordination Meeting of Category 2 Centres Active in the Field of Intangible Cultural Heritage, held on 6-8 July 2015 in Guiyang, Guizhou Province, People’s Republic of China. This meeting is organised annually by the ICH section of UNESCO to coordinate the activities of its category 2 (C2) centres, and to enhance cooperation among the centres and with UNESCO. This year’s meeting was hosted by the Chinese C2 centre (CRIHAP), and representatives from 6 centres in Europe, Asia, and South America gathered for discussions. Akio Arata, Director-General, and Shigeaki Kodama, Associate Fellow, attended the meeting from IRCI, and facilitated the session on the external evaluation commissioned by UNESCO. Other C2 centres also proposed various topics related to their management and activities. At the end of discussions, participants agreed on strengthening further cooperation among the centres.
