The 12th meeting of the Governing Board of IRCI was held online on 21 November 2023. The meeting was attended by ten members of the Governing Board and observers including Mr. KONO Toshiyuki, Senior Fellow, representatives from the Agency for Cultural Affairs, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Sakai City, and UNESCO Category 2 Centres in the field of intangible cultural heritage in the People’s Republic of China (CRIHAP) and the Republic of Korea (ICHCAP).

During the meeting, reports were presented on activities carried out in FY 2022, along with the progress made in FY 2023. After examination, the Governing Board has approved the Work Plan and Budget for FY 2024.

This marked the fourth occasion on which the meeting was conducted online since 2020. Nevertheless, discussions proceeded smoothly, with constructive comments and opinions actively provided by both Board members and observers.
