IRCI 11th Governing Board Meeting

The 11th Governing Board Meeting of IRCI was held online on 28 October 2022. The meeting was attended by nine members of the Governing Board, 23 observers including Mr. MATSUURA Koïchiro, Honorary Advisor, Mr. KONO Toshiyuki, Senior Fellow, the representatives from the Agency for Cultural Affairs, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Sakai City, and UNESCO Category 2 Centres in the field of intangible cultural heritage in the People’s Republic of China (CRIHAP) and the Republic of Korea (ICHCAP).

At this meeting, activities in FY 2021 and the progress of activities in FY 2022 were reported. Most importantly, the Work Plan and Budget for FY 2023 were approved, after being examined by the Governing Board.

This was the third time that the meeting was held online due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the discussion proceeded smoothly with active participation of board members and observers expressing constructive comments and opinions.
