Video recordings of the Special Online Seminar “20 Years of the 2003 Convention: Retrospect and Prospect” held on 25 October and 1 November 2023 are now available on IRCI’s official YouTube channel. Two sessions, corresponding to the fourth and fifth in the series of online seminars for safeguarding ICH in the Asia-Pacific region, were held as part of UNESCO’s celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. Session I “Advancement of the Safeguarding of ICH: the 2003 Convention and Beyond” explored the future of the ICH safeguarding, reflecting on various experts’ commitments and viewpoints. Session II “Dialogue with the Bearers of ICH Elements on the Lists of the Convention” futured the communities of ICH elements inscribed on the lists of the Convention, to look into their on-the-ground experiences.
