Iwamoto Wataru, Director-General of IRCI participated as a panelist in the online Regional Consultations on UNESCO Framework for Culture and Arts Education, hosted by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia during 13 and 14 February 2023.

In this regional meeting, perspectives and challenges in the culture and arts education were discussed, and Mr Iwamoto made comments that included insights obtained through IRCI’s research projects on intangible cultural heritage contributing to SDGs, focusing on SGD4 (quality education). The outcomes of the meeting will inform the UNESCO World Conference on Culture and Arts Education to be held in the United Arab Emirates in December 2023.
