17 October is the International Day of the Intangible Cultural Heritage
17 October is designated as the International Day of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. On this day in 2003, the General Conference of UNESCO adapted the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. While celebrating this day with all stakeholders of intangible cultural heritage (ICH), we would like to take this opportunity for encouraging a wider range of people to recognize the global value of ICH for humanity, as well as cultural diversity and identity, and act for promoting and safeguarding living heritage.
