Nasriddin Efendi or "Khoja Nasriddin" is a comic character in anecdotes, narratives and fairy tales that have spread in Central Asia, the Middle East, China, the Caucasus and the Balkans since the 13th century. It is not known whether Nasriddin Efendi actually lived, but historians offer several theories about his origins. According to one of them, his homeland is Bukhara, and according to another, he was born in China. Nevertheless, none of this prevented the construction of monuments in his honor in many countries. In 2022, at the 17th session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage held in Rabat, Morocco, the tradition of telling anecdotes about Khoja Nasriddin Efendi was included in the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage. It is noted that Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan submitted this multinational nomination
