In Uzbekistan, special attention is paid to the upbringing of the younger generation. Along with its modern education, a number of national programs are being developed aimed at development in the spirit of loyalty to national values of Uzbekistan, customs and traditions, textbooks, and manuals are being updated. Based on this, it is important for a future primary school teacher to get to know more about folklore, in particular, with children's folklore, to determine their importance in the upbringing of the younger generation. As a result, education and upbringing in the national spirit will be achieved on the basis of ensuring the continuity of the genres of disappearing children's folklore and passing them on to the next generation. Therefore, the creation of textbooks, teaching aids, teaching aids for university students in accordance with the curriculum by teachers is also an important task in this regard. The textbook "Children's folklore" is designed for bachelor students of primary education in the specialty 5111700, studying on the basis of the credit-modular system of Bukhara State University, based on the developed scientific program at Bukhara State University and TSPU named after Nizami (approved by Bukhara State University on August 29, 2020, number BD -5111700-28.08) as a selective subject. The theoretical foundations, recording, study and genre features of children's folklore are presented. The examples of children's folklore found in primary school textbooks, their place in the thinking of children, their mental, physical, spiritual and pedagogical significance are analyzed. The textbook is recommended for publication by the Educational and Methodological Council of Bukhara State University.
