Calligraphy is one of the unique types of fine art, and it has its content among the forms and methods of artistic decoration in the field of Uzbekistan's national architecture, all types of folk decorative art, miniatures, book graphics and other arts. It is the most effective form of art from spiritual and educational aspects, which expresses its essence by writing clear words in practical-artistic forms. This article is about the appearance of calligraphy in embroidery, a practical art of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It is known from the sources that embroidery in Uzbekistan reached its peak in the late 19th and early 20th centuries with the colorfulness of fabrics and threads, the quietness and symbolism of the patterns, and taking the main place in life. In particular, in Samarkand embroideries, the sun and moon are symbols of the sun and the moon, the large rosettes, the sozanas sewn in the kanda-khayal and chindi-khayal types of embroidery are now included in the collection and exposition of the Museum of History and Culture of Uzbekistan. Calligraphic inscriptions are featured on large and small embroideries, on headgear and hats, hand and machine embroidery. While ancient samples have arabic calligraphic inscriptions, after the 6th year, we witness that calligraphic inscriptions in the cyril alphabet were skillfully embroidered. The inscriptions in these samples were caused to expand the scope of the functions of the items. The article contains information about the use of the art of calligraphy in this and similar embroidery.
