| Description | Honoring the memory of ancestors has become an ancient tradition among the Uzbek people. The mourning ceremony, which is held when a person dies, as well as the mourning ceremony associated with it, express the great concept of our people to value a person both alive and dead. Mourning songs have been living as a unique poetic form of folk creativity. They have a special place in the system of masterpieces of our spiritual heritage due to their rich content, vitality, philosophical and moral educational views. The book contains comments on the history of collecting and studying the folklore of the mourning ceremony, the composition of genres, the basis of origin, leading motives, the system of images, and its historical fate. The monograph is intended for folklorists, ethnologists, philologist-researchers, in general, a wide readership interested in and respecting the national values of our people. |
