"Umrbokiy meros" Culture and Art Promotion Center of Uzbekistan is pleased to implement the "International Convention for the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage" and present the book-atlas "Intangible Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan". This book-atlas is written in 3 languages (Uzbek, Russian, English), prepared and published according to the order of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan and financed by the Public Fund for the Support of Non-Governmental Non-Commercial Organizations (NCO) and other institutions of civil society under the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan. This book-atlas covers intangible cultural heritage custodians currently operating in cities and villages in the areas of performing arts of intangible cultural heritage, customs, rituals and holidays of society, knowledge and skills related to nature and the universe (cooking), knowledge and skills related to handicrafts and tells about the current state of intangible cultural heritage. Also, in the book-atlas, the implementation of the "Convention on the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage" in Uzbekistan, information about intangible cultural heritage masterpieces included in UNESCO's "Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity", elements of intangible cultural heritage studied during the expedition conducted by the "Living Heritage" promotion center, their There are textual information about keepers, carriers and 239 photos taken during the expedition. Under each photo, information about the name of the ICH route, the name of the custodian, the district, region and district is given. At the end of the book-atlas, there is information about 395 ICH elements studied during the expedition in the regions and 1141 ICH keepers, creative group consisting of 31 specialists participating in the project. Another important aspect of the book-atlas is that a QR code is placed at the end of the book, and readers will have the opportunity to access the YouTube channel of the "Umrbokiy Meros" promotion center and watch all the videos and clips through this code
The "Intangible Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan" book-atlas serves to preserve the intangible cultural heritage of Uzbekistan, to pass it on to future generations, to introduce the people who preserve and convey the masterpieces of Intangible Cultural Heritage to our people, and to raise awareness of the intangible cultural heritage of Uzbekistan at the national and international level.
