Description
Caravanserai of International Culture is a scientific and educational center of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan, established in 2002 as the development of Uzbek-Japanese cooperation. The building was built at the expense of Hirayama Ikuo. The building consists of 2 buildings (blocks A and B): in block A there is a library, conference hall, administrative rooms, laboratory, etc., in block B the Museum of Great Silk Road Ceramics, an exhibition hall, and a repair department for archaeological findings is located. Culture caravanserai history, culture, archeology, ethnology, and includes art directions. The main task of the center is to study and promote the history, culture, art and science of the Great Silk Road countries, West and East, Uzbekistan, develop international cooperation in this regard, expand the level of knowledge of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the foreign community in these fields. Hirayama Ikuo donated 2,000 books containing the development of world culture and art to the library of the center, in 2004. The Japanese government donated a set of exhibition equipment. International conferences, exhibitions, concerts, and creative meetings have become a tradition in the center. Also, the future directions of Uzbek-Japanese archaeological expedition cooperation are being determined. The museum "Great Silk Zero Ceramics" is operating.
