Description
The institute mainly works in the fields of Mongolian vocabulary, linguistics and dictionary studies, ancient and modern studies of Mongolia, Middle Ages, Mongolian literary communication and reporting, intangible cultural heritage and expressions of the native language and oral tradition.
Since 1921, working in every corner of our country, a rich collection of dialects, oral texts, and scriptures. 450 volumes of manuscripts, 100 years of audio recordings, 7,000 manuscripts, 1,000 more clear scriptures, and 1,200 scriptures of the world are stored in the center.
Now the Institute of Linguistics has "Department of Linguistics", "Department of Applied Linguistics", "Department of Literary Studies", "Department of Orality Studies", "Department of Journalism and Central Studies", "Department of Comparative Linguistics", "Mystery of Mongolia" It operates with 9 units: "Research Center", "Ts. Damdinsuren's House Museum", Native Language Library and Laboratory.
