Description
The National Museum of Mongolia is one of the oldest museums with the status of "National" that collects exhibits that comprehensively represent the history of the Mongolian nation, studies the collection using scientific grounds and methods, preserves it in accordance with international standards, and promotes it nationally and globally.
The Research Center of the museum carries out multifaceted activities based on specific scientific methods, such as the study of cultural heritage, history, archeology and ethnography of Mongolia, the study of the museum's collection of exhibits, the development of exhibition concepts, arrangement, and restoration. The center has 1 doctor, 3 doctoral students, and 3 masters. Since 2008, the academic journal "Nomadic Heritage Studies" has been published. "Nomadic Heritage Studies" magazine publishes numerous research results in archeology, history, ethnology, culture and art studies and brings them to the readers.
After the order of the Government of Mongolia No. 129 of 2008, the National History Museum of Mongolia was changed to the "National Museum of Mongolia" with the responsibility of providing scientific-research and local museums of the state and province with professional-methodological management and information. In order to expand the scope of the research, the magazine was published with the issue "Nomadic Heritage Studies. Tomus VIII, Fasc.1-23" (However, when continuing the 1968, 1975, 1977, 2001, 2003, 2007 issues of the "Museum Studies" magazine, "Tomus ÜII" ", but 8th one's skipped). Since then, a total of 16 times of Nomadic Heritage Journal have been published in 2008-2022.
