| Description |
The national costume of the Tajiks is a unique historical and cultural relic, an integral part of their rich historical heritage, a source of knowledge of ethnoculture. Clothing, like textiles, plays an important role in social, economic, and spiritual life and reflects gender balance and changes in society. The difference between a suit and clothing is based on the functions they perform. Clothing is used as a household, utilitarian thing. A symbolic sign function is performed by a suit, reflecting its social status, political rating, religious beliefs, aesthetic taste, etc. Currently, fashion promotion has turned into a transglobal business, participation in which for each nation is a sign of high prestige and a demonstration of its historical and cultural heritage. The problems of the dissertation are due to the processes of globalization and unification of national cultures, which level out ethno-specific traditions, including the significance of the national costume of the Tajik people. At the same time, folk craftsmen, modern designers, and domestic scientists of the secular state of Tajikistan are faced with the problem of counteracting the influence of fundamentalism from abroad. In general, works aimed at a comparative socio-cultural analysis of the gender balance reflected in the women's national costume of Tajiks in historical retrospect have not yet been prepared. This dissertation research is devoted to filling this gap, based on the author's own research in the field of evolution and historical transformation of traditional clothing of Tajiks of the 20th-21st centuries in this aspect. The purpose of the study is to study and analyze the traditional women's costume of Tajiks, its historical transformation, as well as its influence on the development of the modern fashion industry, taking into account the gender balance that developed in Tajikistan in the 20th-21st centuries. The dissertation consists of an introduction, two chapters, six sections, and a conclusion. The appendix contains illustrative material, a Russian-Tajik terminological dictionary of details of the traditional cut of national Tajik clothing, and a regulation concerning the dress code recommended for employees and postgraduate students of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan. |
