First, the author of the article provided a classification of folk songs in the world of folklore science and then considered this issue in Tajik folklore. The author of the article notes that most of the songs are associated with family rituals, the most important of which are related to ceremonies of wedding and mourning. It is further indicated that the main researcher of this topic, F. Zehnieva, in her dissertation «Songs of the Tajik wedding ceremony,» divided wedding songs into eight groups: 1) news songs
2) preparatory songs
3) songs about parting
4) solemn songs
5) congratulatory songs
6) praise songs
7) dance songs
8) satirical songs
their classification is conditional. Finally, the author of this article considered the songs «Gularusak, sar bishuy» (bride, wash your hair), «Sarshuyon» (hair washing), and «Sartaroshon» (haircut) and some moments of «Shahbaron» (ritual of first-time coming groom and his relatives and friends to the bride’s house, which is accompanied by playing joyful music, folksongs, and dances), «Arusbaroron» or «Kelinbaron» (ritual of first-time coming bride and her relatives and friends to the groom’s house, which is accompanied by playing joyful music, folksongs, and dances), «Dance songs», «Satiric songs», etc. By analyzing and considering the process of the Tajik wedding celebration, the author of the article notes that some of these songs are still sung among the people by professional singers, and people receive spiritual food by listening to them during a wedding celebration. After discussions, the author concludes that in the future, researchers need to study the poetics of each song with its variants and details, since each text has its own characteristics in terms of structure, content, artistry, etc.
