| Description |
The author devotes his ethnolinguistic article to the study of prayer and beliefs in Badakhshan. This article examines little-studied topics in linguistic analysis related to the element of water. The author noted that prayers and beliefs associated with the element of water among the Tajik people have existed since ancient times, as evidenced by the primary source of books published in ancient times and the research of local domestic and foreign scientists
especially in the sacred book of Avestа, the praise of water and nature has special significance. Since ancient times, the Tajik people have shown special respect for nature, considered its gifts sacred, and sacrificed for natural events. Belief in the soul of objects and objects of nature (animism) indicates that at all times man tried to protect himself from the forces and events of nature. People certainly thought that with the help of prayer and spells (magic), they could affect all events, currents, and objects, as well as living people. The people in Tajikistan still believe that polluting water is a sin and it will harm people. Even today, people consider it a great sin to throw manure into the water for the purpose of purity and clarity. The people in Badakhshan, including the residents of Shughnon, Roshtkala, Ishkoshim, and Rushon districts, recite prayers and blessings in front of the holy waters of the springs, which are related to the names of the great ones, and ask for blessings for them. Today, most of these prayers and beliefs, which are the wealth of the Pomeranian languages, are underutilized and are gradually disappearing with the development and formation of the society, and efforts should be made to preserve them. |
