| Description | The monograph is dedicated to the analyses of translation sources of examples of Uzbek folk rituals, which are transferred directly and indirectly into English the use of ethnographics in the translation, and the factors that were the basis for the translation of Uzbek ritual folklore into English were determined. It was observed that the problems of Uzbek ritual studies were interpreted by English orientalists. The essence of the term “ethnographic” was explained in depth, the limits of its application were shown, and the problems of their expression in translation were studied on the example of the English translations of the folklore of Uzbek wedding and mourning ceremonies, and the specific features of their interpretation, translation, and description were highlighted. The types of ethnographies related to the rituals in Uzbekistan were clarified and classified due to the extent of preserving them in the translation. The solution to the problems related to the English translation of the ethnographic representations of the ritual dishes, clothes, and various attributes was shown. |
