| Description | Doli and Sandole dances originated from the municipality of Liquiça. These dances are considered cultural elements that entertain people during any cultural activity or event, such as the mourning ceremony, the inauguration of the sacred house, the traditional ceremony of prohibiting the collection of fruit and crops before their time, and funerals. These dances are accompanied by songs sung interactively by men and women, moving in rhythm with the drums. The movements of these two dances are similar, but they differ in the songs sung during the dance. These dances aim to bring people together and encourage them during any cultural event or festivities. |
