Description
Funu Larantuka (Larantuka war) is a folktale passed down from generation to generation within the Lakoto lineage. As told in the story, a group of warriors from the Lakoto house went to war in Larantuka/Naktuka in Indonesia. Although the reason for the conflict is unknown, the elders of the Lakoto house were invited to participate in the war. The first people who went to war were killed and beheaded. Their deaths invoked the wrath of the elders. The elders then chose the brave men and warriors of the Lakoto house to go to Larantuka to avenge the death of their brothers. In this mission, the brave men and warriors managed to kill the prince of Larantuka and defeat their enemies. On the way back, one of the members of the group encountered a snake in a spring while he was about to drink. He bravely grabbed the snake and pulled it out of the water. When the snake was pulled out, it was no longer a snake but a sword. This sword was taken to the Lacoto household as something valuable that is worshipped from generation to generation to this day.
