International Symposium in Celebration of the 10th Anniversary of the Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage

Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the adoption of the Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage, the International Research Centre for the Intangible Cultural Heritage in Asia-Pacific Region (IRCI), Agency for Cultural Affairs of Japan and Sakai City will hold “International Symposium in Celebration of the 10th Anniversary of the Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage” (abbreviated as “the Symposium”) on 3rd August 2013. The purpose of the Symposium is to raise awareness and promote understandings of the Convention and ICH. In the Symposium, we have keynote speeches and panel discussion, inviting the specialists of the Convention, researchers of ICH from the Asia-Pacific region and bearers of ICH. We invite two ICHs inscribed to the representative list of ICH, namely, Royal Ballet of Cambodia and Sada Shin Noh (Japan) and they give performances after the panel discussion.
